At BRECC we provide finger foods for morning and afternoon teas and late snack. We provide a two course cooked lunch. Many meal times are served "progressively" in the rooms, allowing children the independence to choose when they eat, and who they eat with. This fosters a relaxing, social experience, with children being encouraged to engage in conversation with others during meal times to create a sociable environment. Children are involved in the set up and clean up process to promote independence and self-help skills.
Our menus are on a five weekly rotation and provide a nutritious, wide variety of tasty food that incorporates all the essential food groups, consistent with the Australian Government Get Up and Grow guidelines. We aim to cater for all children's allergies/intolerances/cultural requirements in relation to food, with our onsite cook working closely with families to provide alternatives to meet the needs of the children at BRECC.
To ensure the safety of children who attend the centre with life-threatening allergies, BRECC is a nut free zone, with no products containing nuts being brought into the Centre
